Meet Our Team!
Cathy Linhares | Owner
“I started The Speech Path in 2000 because, as a mother of a 5-year-old autistic son, I knew the importance of early intervention. I wanted every family with a speech and/or language delayed child to have access to quality, compassionate speech therapy during the most important years of a child’s development. The early years--- from birth to age 3--are full of moments that shape how children connect, communicate, and grow. I saw a need for therapy that felt personal, playful, and family centered, right in the comfort of each child's home. To reach more families and make a greater impact, I built a team of caring, skilled professionals who share the same heart for early intervention. Together we bring joy, creativity, and connection to every session... helping little ones find their voice and families feel confident and supported.”

“Working for The Speech Path is a great blessing in my life. There is genuine connection, care, and respect within the team. There is an abundance of support and creativity to problem solve as a group. I’ve had the privilege to work as many or few hours as I desire while navigating a work-life balance and have received positive encouragement along the way. This job doesn't feel like a job, but more a professional family-feel environment to serve our community with their speech/language needs. My heart is full of gratitude to be a part of this team and I do not plan on leaving!”

“When I started working for The Speech Path in 2023, I was new to the world of early intervention. I had worked in the public school system for four years and was battling burnout. The whole team at The Speech Path was so supportive as I settled into becoming an early intervention SLP. All of my questions were answered, no matter how small or silly I may have felt they were. I was guided to useful resources and the team helped me brainstorm strategies to approach different problems with. I've also been encouraged to share professional knowledge that I've gained with the rest of the team.
The Speech Path has allowed me to return to a work-life balance that I didn't think was possible when I worked in the public school system. Paperwork and documentation is manageable. At The Speech Path, you are given the flexibility to choose how many clients you take on. When I had a family member dealing with a health crisis, I was able to reduce my caseload and work fewer hours so that I could prioritize taking care of the family member, while still working a couple of days per week.”

“Starting a new career can bring its fair share of nerves and unknowns, but from the very beginning, Cathy and my Speech Path colleagues made me feel welcomed and supported. I always felt comfortable asking questions and seeking guidance, knowing I had a team that genuinely cared about my growth. Their mentorship gave me the confidence to succeed while still allowing me the flexibility and freedom to discover my own voice in the early intervention SLP world.”

"I absolutely love working with The Speech Path as an Early Intervention Speech-Language Pathologist. It is a joy and a privilege to work so closely with families during this part of their child's development. I believe I am able to serve my families so well because of the support and guidance I have received as a team member at The Speech Path. We have amazing support, excellent leadership, and a welcoming family centered atmosphere that is important to me."

"I began working for The Speech Path in 2012 and from the very beginning I have always felt supported and encouraged to grow as a speech language pathologist. It is because of the continued support I've received from The Speech Path team and the confidence I have gained as a speech language pathologist, that I am now able to help supervise our grad school interns as well as offer the same support and encouragement to our new incoming SLP's. Working with Cathy and the whole Speech Path team has been an incredibly rewarding experience."
